Why Holistic Nutrition?

Holistic Nutrition is a natural approach to developing a healthy balanced diet while taking into account the person as a whole. By determining the root cause of imbalance rather than focusing on treating a symptom, holistic health is an approach to a person’s well being that takes into consideration all aspects of life: emotional, physical, and spiritual. As a holistic nutritionist I will help you learn to incorporate natural, organic, unprocessed, whole foods into your diet by creating a customized food and lifestyle plan that is specific to your constitution, imbalances, and dietary preferences rather than a one size fits all approach. We are all unique individuals, so what may be good or balancing for one person may be aggravating for another. When you develop a conscious relationship with food and eat fresh, seasonal foods that are compatible with your constitution it has a profound effect on both your body and mind. The food you eat not only provides you with energy, but also influences your mood, mental alertness, and emotional wellbeing. Whether you are looking to lose weight, have been troubled with indigestion problems, want to learn how to eat a more nutrient rich diet, or struggle with cooking, I can help guide you in achieving your goals and start you on the path to feeling your best.

 
 

ABOUT


Melissa Anne Ainley is a Holistic Nutritionist with a practice based in New York City. She specializes in integrating the ancient holistic healing system of Ayurveda with modern lifestyles. Melissa Anne completed her Ayurvedic Nutrition studies under Dr. Naina Marballi, B.S.A.M., D.A.C. at Ayurveda’s World in New York City and her Foundations of Aromatherapy at The New York Institute of Aromatic Studies. She is Board Certified as a Holistic Health Care Practitioner by The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) and is a Certified Level One Aromatherapist by The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA). 

In addition to being a nutritionist Melissa Anne is also an established lifelong circus performer specializing in the artistry of hula hoops. She holds two world records with Record Holders Republic for hula hoop rotational speed, and teaches hula hoop fitness classes for people seeking a fun alternative to traditional exercise.

Melissa Anne is passionate about helping people learn how to connect with their mind, body, and spirit through teaching preventative measures for living healthier and happier lives.
